SUMMARY:Thursday August 20 Lunch and Learn
DESCRIPTION:"Improving the Bottom Line by Optimizing Patient Throughput"\nAugust 20\, 11:30 AM to 2:00 PM atMaggiano’s Atlanta\nRegistration Now Open\nAugust 20 Lunch and Learn Approved for 1.5 Hours of ACHE In-Person Education Credit!\n \nAbout the ProgramJoin us on August 20 at Maggiano’s in Buckhead for our in-person lunch and learn program\, “Improving the Bottom Line by Optimizing Patient Throughput.” The program has been approved for 1.5 hours of ACHE In-Person Education credit. \nEffective patient throughput is a challenge for most organizations even though a sound program can significantly affect operational costs\, service capacity\, and patient experience. Creating good patient throughput includes strategies that closely align organizational structures\, processes\, and people to initiate discharge execution at the time of admission. \nBringing these complex systems together requires an ongoing transdisciplinary approach to plan\, manage\, and monitor each area’s metrics such as length of stay\, patient holding\, emergency department left without being seen\, and patient satisfaction. Results of a sound program may include increased bed capacity\, improved revenue\, and reduced costs. This discussion will explore strategies to reduce excess inpatient days and create bed capacity through multiple interlocking clinical initiatives. \nSome of the topics and questions covered include: \n\nHow can you leverage hospitalists to expedite discharges?\nHow do you address restructuring Care Management to reduce length of stay?\nHow do you create bed capacity without adding beds?\nWhat strategies have you used at your organization to reduce practice variation?\nWhat strategies have you used to reduce bottlenecks in the ED\, OR\, and PACU?\nWhat financial and quality benefits have you been able to quantify?\nWhat clinical outcomes and service measures have you been able to impact?\n\nModerator: \nOur August 20 program will be held at Maggiano’s in Buckhead. \nRegister NowNetworking TimeRegistration opens at 11:30 AM\, and we will have 30 minutes of networking time before and after the program\, with plenty of time for questions and answers during the program. SUMMARY:August 27 Webinar - Psychological Safety in Healthcare
DESCRIPTION:August 27 Joint Diversity & Inclusion Webinar with NAHSE Atlanta and NALHE Georgia:\n"Psychological Safety in Healthcare: Creating Environments Where LGBTQ+ Clinicians Can Lead\, Heal\, and Thrive"\nAugust 27\, 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM ETVia Zoom\n1.5 Hours of ACHE Qualifying Education Credit\nJoin us on August 27 at noon ET as our panel of experts discusses "Psychological Safety in Healthcare: Creating Environments Where LGBTQ+ Clinicians Can Lead\, Heal\, and Thrive." \nHealthcare asks its workforce to show up fully present\, focused\, and ready to deliver care under conditions of extraordinary pressure. Yet for thousands of LGBTQ+ clinicians across the country\, a significant portion of their cognitive and emotional energy is consumed not by the demands of patient care\, but by the daily calculation of how much of themselves they can safely reveal in the environments where they work. \nThat calculation has a cost to the clinician\, to the care team\, and ultimately to the patient. This webinar examines the specific dimensions of psychological safety as they intersect with LGBTQ+ identity in clinical and healthcare leadership settings and provides actionable frameworks for creating environments where every clinician can contribute their full capability without the burden of concealment. \nPanelists Will Discuss: \n\nWhat signals in your clinical environment tell an LGBTQ+ clinician whether it is safe to be known?\nWhat is the difference between tolerating LGBTQ+ identity and actively creating safety around it\, and which one describes your organization today?\nWhat would change in your team’s performance if every clinician could contribute their full self without the overhead of identity management?\nWhat is the one thing you as a leader could do tomorrow that would make a measurable difference to an LGBTQ+ colleague’s experience of safety in your environment?\n\nCommunity Partners\nRegister NowModerator: \nMichael Serotoff\, MD\, MBA\, FACEP\, LSSGB\,Medical Director\, Emergency Department\,Wellstar Columbia County Medical Center \nPanelists: \nJohn De Caro\, MD\,Chief of Urology\,The Southeast Permanente Medical Group \nPanelists: \nAshi Gill\, BDS MHA\,Executive Director\,Silverado \nPanelists: \nLarry Henderlight\,PharmD\,Director of Pharmacy\,Emory Healthcare \nPanelists: \nC.
