Topic: “Using the Baldrige Criteria to Improve Your Organization’s Performance and Quality”
In 1987 the Department of Commerce developed the Baldrige National Quality Award to recognize business excellence and promote sharing of best practices to enhance the competitiveness of US industry. This presentation will provide a brief overview of the Baldrige Performance Excellence Program and some examples of high-performing health systems that have received the Baldrige National Quality Award. Our three presenters will share from their own experience as Baldrige Examiners, and will provide a glimpse of the Baldrige Executive Fellows Program. You can expect to take away information that may help you with performance improvement in your own organization, whether your organization embraces “Baldrige as a Journey” or not. You will also learn how individual experience as an examiner can help you grow professionally, through knowledge, networking and strengthening of your own resume.
