Co-Presented with Women in Healthcare Georgia
Last year, healthcare workers were finally given the spotlight they deserved, being haled as heroes for their unrivaled dedication. Although the pandemic certainly highlighted how important caregivers are, they’ve always been important.
Unfortunately for many caregivers, they are often overlooked or taken for granted. They neglect their own physical and mental health for the sake of caring for others. We should never let this happen. You’ll hear about how to recognize signs of burnout in others and yourself, and ways to combat it. Don’t miss this crucial program that could change the way you think.
Join us on May 12 for a discussion on compassion fatigue and stategies for coping. And earn 1 hour of ACHE Qualified Education credit.
Key Learning Objectives:
Women in Healthcare Georgia is co-presenting this important program about the issues many caregivers are experiencing, whether in the healthcare setting or in their personal lives. Women are often depended on to provide care for ailing loved ones – many times while juggling full-time jobs and other family obligations. Caregivers often neglect themselves, sometimes leading to disastrous results.
It’s crucial that this topic is discussed so that we can recognize those we work with and care about who are experiencing signs of burnout – or maybe recognize it in ourselves – and do what’s needed to provide nurture, and even prevent burnout in the future. The program begins with Dr. Smink giving a short presentation on what compassion fatigue is all about, followed by a panel discussion.
