About Our Program:
During the past several years, there has been a dramatic shift in the ethos of working in healthcare, especially for physicians, other caregivers, and nonclinical hospital staff. This shift from a focus on being highly engaged, loyal, and committed to caring for others has, in many places, been overshadowed by overly restrictive productivity metrics and a personal loss of autonomy. These dynamics have eroded the personal meaning, joy, pride, and purpose of being a caregiver or an ancillary service provider in today’s healthcare industry.

This course will focus on how healthcare leaders can maximize sustainable employee engagement. Dawn Zell Wright, JD, MBA, FACHE, SPHR, will present a toolkit for use in helping caregivers and other staff rekindle personal and professional meaning in their work. Note: To showcase the amazing efforts of healthcare providers during the COVID-19 pandemic, some examples of positive worker and organizational behavior exhibited during the crisis will be used as case examples.

Seminar Objectives:

• Discover how to leverage personal and corporate values as the basis for employee engagement.
• Explore how to create a meaningful work culture.
• Gain tools for elevating employee behavior to purposeful performance.

This ACHE Choice session has 3.0 Hours of ACHE In-Person Education Credit. As an ACHE Choice Program, it may be eligible for joint accreditation with other organizations (see box at right for details).
