About the Leadership Series
The Leadership Series was created to bring to GAHE members and guests the top national leaders in the field of healthcare to give us their insights into their careers, their organizations, and the decisions they made to get them to where they are today.
You’ll learn straight from the source how these top executives run their organizations and manage their success.
The format is one hour with 50 minutes of lecture and 10 minutes of Q&A. We are expecting to offer at least one session a month, and the schedule will depend on speaker availability. Our series qualifies for one hour of qualified continuing education credit with ACHE.

About Our Speaker
John Kueven, FACHE, MHA, RN, is SVP and Hospital President Wellstar Paulding Hospital & Interim President Wellstar Cobb Hospital and is Vice President of GAHE. He specializes in health care management, strategic planning, performance improvement, and utilization management. While at Wellstar Paulding, John has helped lead the organization to achieve an “A” rating from Leapfrog, a 5-Star CMS rating, and the Georgia Oglethorpe Award, and the first and only hospital in Georgia to receive the Malcolm Baldrige Award.
Prior to joining WellStar, John was COO of
Memorial Hermann Katy, (Katy, Texas) where he helped to drive a culture of patient safety, escalating Memorial Hermann Katy to top decile performance and achieving the Texas Award for Performance Excellence, the Texas State Baldrige Award, as well as facilitating a $120 million-dollar expansion.

In November, Wellstar Paulding Hospital was awarded the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award, the nation’s highest level of recognition for performance excellence. Wellstar
Paulding Hospital is the first healthcare organization in the state of Georgia to receive this award and the second organization in Georgia to ever receive it.
The award is the nation’s only presidential award for performance excellence, recognizing U.S. organizations and businesses that have shown an unceasing drive for innovative solutions to complex challenges, visionary leadership, and operational excellence.
